CompressKit privacy policy
CompressKit ("the app") is published by Muhammad Ahmad Raza ("we", "us"). Contact: contact@theprocoders.com.
Last updated 3 November 2026
1. The short version
- Your photos never leave your phone. CompressKit compresses, resizes and turns photos into PDFs entirely on your device. We never upload, store, view or share your photos or the files the app makes.
- There is no account. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- The app shows ads and measures how it is used, through Google services described below. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first.
2. What the app does with your photos
When you pick a photo, Android's photo picker gives the app access to that photo only. The app reads it, makes a new compressed file, and leaves your original untouched. Results are kept in the app's private storage until you save or share them. Saved files go to Pictures/CompressKit (Documents/CompressKit for PDFs) or a folder you choose. None of this is sent anywhere. The app has no access to the rest of your photos.
3. Data collected by Google services in the app
The app uses three Google services. Each collects some data automatically, as described by Google.
| Service | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (ads) | IP address (which can indicate your general location), advertising ID and app set ID, interactions with ads, and app and SDK performance data | Showing and measuring ads, analytics, fraud prevention |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | How the app is used (for example, that a compression finished or a preset was used), app instance ID, device and app information | Understanding which features are used so we can improve them |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports: stack traces, app state and device details at the time of a crash, and a crash-reporting installation ID | Finding and fixing crashes |
The app never adds your photos, file names, folder names or anything you type to this data. The usage events it sends contain only coarse outcomes, such as "the target was met" or the name of a form preset, and handled errors are reported only by type, without their text.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (TLS). Google processes it under its own terms: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
4. Consent and your choices
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent message before any ad is requested. Usage analytics runs only if you allow storing information on your device and measuring content performance. Crash reports are sent only if you allow storing information on your device. If you decline, Google may still show limited, non-personalised ads, but nothing is sent to Firebase. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy choices.
- Everywhere, nothing is sent to Firebase until the app has checked whether consent is needed. Firebase is never used for advertising.
- Advertising ID:you can reset or delete it in your phone's settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Google › Ads, depending on your phone).
- Stopping all collection: uninstalling the app stops all collection.
5. Data retention and deletion
Analytics data is kept for 2 months, then deleted by Google. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Because there is no account, the data is not linked to your name or contact details, and we cannot look up data belonging to a particular person. If you have a question about your data, write to contact@theprocoders.com.
6. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Permissions
- Photo access:none. The app uses Android's photo picker, which shares only the photos you choose.
- Storage (Android 7, 8 and 9 only): asked for when you first save a file, so the app can write it to Pictures/CompressKit. Android 10 and later need no permission for this.
- Internet: used only by the ad, analytics and crash-reporting services above. The app never uses the internet to process your photos.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
